We created a series of beer called Gruve 3 to honour the mining community in Longyearbyen. The beers are named after work title and known persons. This beer is dedicated to the owner of the bewery, Robert Johansen, a miner in mine 3 from 1982-1994. At the age of 20 he took his pilot licence, and in 1983 he bought his first plane. Seasoned miners were given nicknames. If you were assigned a nickname you were a person to remedier. People quickly understood that Robert was a hardworking man and was therefore nicknamed "Autopilot".
Aroma: Burbon, karamell, kaffe, sjokolade.
Smak: Maltrik øl med smak av karamell og eik.
